Cooktown Regional WeatherAs we say in Queensland "every day a blue day mate". The weather for our area is always good, whether it be the Summer or Winter. Many travellers are advised not to travel to Cape York in summer? This is often an assumption due to the monsoonal rains across northern Australia. However, not so for the seasoned traveller visiting south east Cape York. Today most areas on Cape York are accessible all year round, if not by road certainly by air. Travelling to Cooktown is not only possible all year, but quick and easy. Mungumby Lodge welcomes guests twelve months of the year. Our properties peak tourist season at the lodge runs from June through to the second week in Dec. In Jan we become busy again until April, the numbers are slightly less than in winter, but the wildlife are out to play and excels. Being a small boutique resort style lodge we are never crowded, tranquility and our location are our greatest assets. Dry Season for us is generally - May - Dec with the calmest and bluest days recorded June till late November. Wet Season for us is generally Jan - April with the highest rainfall often recorded in Feb & March
